Azeris living in Georgia to watch at news of Georgian Public TV in native language
From February Azerbaijanis, living in Georgia, will watch at the news of the Georgian Public TV in native language through local TV channels, the Azerbaijani Media Council
The half-hourly evening news of the Georgian Public TV will be interpreted and broadcasted in Azerbaijani under the financial assistance of OSCE through local TV channels in the regions Dmanisi, Bolnisi, Gardabani and Marneuli, densely populated by Azerbaijanis.
Zurab Khirinadze, the representative of OSCE in Georgia, said on the web-site mpi.az that the organization intent to prevent difficulties on informing of other nationalities, living in Georgia, and ensure their close participation in the social life by this way.
No newspapers are issued in the Georgian regions, except Gruzia newspaper publishing in Azerbaijani with low circulation.
