Bird flu' revealed in Azerbaijan

A virus of bird flu has been revealed in Azerbaijan. It was revealed as a result of laboratory researches in London on the base of samples bird blood and carcasses, collected in the course of monitoring in the Caspian Sea shore. The State Veterinary Service at the Agriculture Ministry told Trend the results of analysis were presented to the Agriculture Ministry and the Health Ministry on Thursday.

In this respect the Veterinary Service strengthened the epidemiological control in places and caries out complex epizootic measures.

The Health Ministry and the Agriculture Ministry calls on the people to be more watchful, to keep the plague of domestic birds indoors, not allow them to be in contact with wild birds, and immediately appeal to the local veterinary services incase of emergency.

For the time being no case of infection with the virus has been fixed among people in Azerbaijan, the Veterinary Service underlined.
