Azeri Health Ministry takes necessary measures within struggle with bird flu

The Azerbaijani Health Ministry takes all necessary measures on prevention of spreading bird flu in the country, Trend reports quoting Faig Mammadov, the representative of the antiplague station under the Health Ministry.

From January the Minsiter issued 2 decrees in relation to the struggle with bird flu in Azerbaijan.

The specialists of the Health Ministry are conducting monitoring acts in the regions of the country. The Ministry established hot lines and brigades of doctors in the central regional hospitals, Mammadov underlined.

The Ministry purchased a lot of disinfectant Bromocept and 550 packages of Tamiflu (medicine for treatment of flu, infectious disease) that would allow treatment of 550 people.

According to Mammadov, the virus dies at 80 C during several minutes and there have not been facts of transmission of the virus from man to man.

The virus is subjected to mutation that does not exclude possibility of spreading the virus among people in the future, Mammadov said.
