Next pardon decree in Azerbaijan will be signed in May, A member of pardon commission in Azerbaijan, MP Elmira Akhundova, told Trend.
According to Akhundova, pardon appeals continue to arrive from the inmates. This time their total number exceeds that of previous appeals. Despite the next pardon was expected to happen on the Eve of Novruz holiday, now it is evident that the president won`t sign this decree in the coming days. It would most likely be signed in May. Meetings of the pardon commission will start in April. During the meetings members of the commission will review the appeals, Akhundova said.
Admittedly, that the last pardon decree was signed by the president on January 19 2005, it has released approximately 100 inmates.
