Ilham Agayev, the judge of the Sabail district court, held a preparatory sitting on suit by the Caucasus Moslem Board (CMB) against the State Committee on Religious Bodies (SCRB) on Thursday, Trend reports quoting Mukhtar Mustafayev, the lawyer of CMB.
He noted that the reason for the suit was violation of the legislation and establishment of pilgrimage without permission of CMB by SCRB. The Azerbaijani legislation envisages issue of permission by CMB for registration of religious communities. The people willing to establish religious community are due to submit documents to CMB. Then CMB sends these documents and its permission to SCRB. Nevertheless, SCRB doesnt adhere to the legislation and establish pilgrimage without permission, the lawyer stressed.
According to Mustafayev, the lawyer of SCRB filed a petition on baseless of the suit at the preparatory sitting. The judge informed the sides that baseless of the suit was not discussed at preparatory sitting, but determine during the legal hearing.
The judge set the date of the sitting for 4 Aril.
