WHO representative: Situation in Azerbaijan is stable

World Health Organization (WHO) expert group will complete its work in Azerbaijan in the course of this week. Experts will continue to support and control the situation from epidemiological point of view, but in general situation is stable, head of WHO press service on bird flu control, Christiana Salvi, told Trend.

There are no new cases of bird flu in the country, but the expert group will remain till end of the week to control the situation in case if new disease cases will be found.

There were 5 cases of the bird flu around the country in general, and all affected persons have passed away. Condition of 2 persons with the suspected bird flu (a 15 year old girl and 10year old boy) has improved.

However, population, particularly in the regions should treat the bird flu threat seriously.
