Preliminary investigation of the Economic court judge murder is over

The preliminary investigation of the murder of the Azerbaijani Economic court judge, Solmaz Askerova, committed beside the court building on December 23, is over, Baku city Criminal office` s investigations department told Trend.

It has been discovered that the judge was attacked in the evening hours of December 23 in front of the administrative building of Economic court. She was stabbed several times with a knife and passed out on the spot. Some time later a Baku city resident, Babek Rzayev came to the Yasamal district police department and took all the responsibility for the murder. He was an ex-husband of the judge.

He told the investigation that several years ago when Askerova

has officially divorced him, she became an owner of their joint property. It made Rzayev to denounce his citizenship. However, when he asked Askerova to help him leaving for Russia and acquiring Russian citizenship she has refused to help him.

After the given conversation, Rzayev picked up a knife and came to the court` s building waiting for his ex-wife. He attacked and stabbed her to death after she left the building going home.

The case will soon be dispatched to the Criminal court.
