Jews are happy with their life in Azerbaijan, Jewish MP, Yevda Abramov told, speaking at the conference in the Human rights Institute of the National Sciences academy, Trend reports.
Jews are living in Azerbaijan for approximately 2.500 years, he said. Therefore, they are considered to be native population. Anthropologists could not find any physical difference between Jews living in Azerbaijan and native Azerbaijanis, he assured. Local Jews have intermarried with ethnic Azerbaijanis and they have never had any territorial or any other claims in the countries where they lived, he emphasized.
Azerbaijani people have always been treating Jews with love and we, Jews are not separating ourselves from the Azerbaijani people and state. We were sharing the tragedy of Azerbaijanis throughout history. Thus, Armenian bandits in 1918-19 destroyed thousands of Jews together with Azerbaijanis. Besides, a lot of Jews voluntary participated in the Karabakh war and many died there. We are proud of it, he concluded.
