The Azerbaijani Ombudsman is going to attend a meeting of Ombudsmen of Europe to be held in Vienna on 11-13 June. Elmira Suleymanova received an invitation from the European regional organization of the International Institute of Ombudsman, Trend reports.
The gathering will discuss the role and function of the Institute of Ombudsmen in the defense of human rights, as well as focus on exchange of opinion and experience. There will be held hearings on European ombudsmens authorities, the role of the Institute of European Ombudsmen, who set up democratic way of development.
There will be also taken report on Application of Human Rights in Europe by Thomas Hammerberg, CE Commissar on Human Rights. Suleymanova will speak on the work done in Azerbaijan in the sphere of protection of human rights and freedom, activities of the Ombudsman Institutes, as well as achievements in this field.
During the visit she also plans to meet with representatives of the Azerbaijani Diaspora in Austria.
