Conference on Injury Surveillance and Prevention held in Baku

On June 16 a conference on injury surveillance and prevention was held a the ministry of Health, Trend reports.

The event is devoted to execution of Emergency Medicine Development Initiative Program by USAID. The conference participants discussed the issues related to intensification of emergency aid clinics.

Deputy Health Minister Sanan Karimov underlined the importance of increasing first aid quality across the republic, mentioning that this work has been successfully performed for the last 6 years.

In turn, deputy Emergency Response Minister Faik Tagizadeh said aid is divided by four stages: emergency, before-doctor, upgraded and specialized. The main importance, he added, has the public awareness issue, which suggests collaboration with Azeri Ministry of Education.

The said program is financially supported by Chevron, Amerada Hess, BP, SCP, Engender Health and IMC.
