We dont intervene in work of Azerbaijanis living in Iran, Nazim Ibrahimov, the chairman of the State Committee on Work with Azerbaijanis living Abroad (SCWALA), told journalists, Trend reports.

Expressing attitude towards pressure, arrest and repression against Azerbaijanis in Iran who held mass actions and movement, he noted that Azerbaijan doesnt intervene in the internal affairs of Iran. The position of Azerbaijan in this direction is clear. We are interested in all events happening with Azerbaijanis living in each country. However, SCWALA beforehand expressed that it will not carry out work with Azerbaijanis living in Iran. If we start the work, then we will bring damage to the local Azerbaijanis. We dont intervene in the problems of Iranian Azerbaijanis even if it makes us anxious. But the people who left South Azerbaijan and now live in different countries around the world are considered our diaspora and we will work with them. Majority of our diaspora is formed by South Azerbaijanis. They love Azerbaijan and closely come together around the state. They make their best to deliver the realities about Azerbaijan to the attention of the world public, Ibrahimov added.
