The necessity has arisen in Azerbaijan to create effective mechanisms of investigation and prevention of trafficking fighting, Trend reports quoting Robin Seaword, assistant to head of OSCE Baku office, speaking at the press conference devoted to totals of trainings for experts for hotlines and special shelter for trafficking victims in Azerbaijan.
Mr Seaword said one of such mechanisms is the hotline to get launched soon in Azerbaijan. В"This will be a three-digit number, yet it is not defined. We are talking to Azeri government on this matter, said Mr Seaword, outlining that all wishing may freely address for consultation using this number. All the appeals will be confidential and anonymous. Alongside, OSCE official said the hotline alone is not enough, it is necessary to create law-enforcement center to gather information on trafficking victims.
The four-day workshops or training experts for hotlines and preparation of shelters for trafficking victims hosted in total 35 representatives of Azeri NGOs. The event was arranged by US Embassy, International Migration Organization and OSCE Baku office.
