Azeri Health Ministry received more than 6 thousand complaints from population within half a year

In January-June 2006, the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan has received 6500 complaints from the population. 2 thousand out of them deal with medical services, examinations, etc, Trend reports with reference to the press-service of the same ministry.

The head of the Health Ministry Oktay Shiraliyev noted that there are shortages in the activity of several private medical institutions. Private chemist's shops functioning in medical institutions should be closed because in many cases they function illegally, told Shiraliyev.

The minister noted that the disinfection measures in polyclinics cannot be considered satisfied, especially in stomatological polyclinics. Irrespective if the conducting of the meeting of the properly established commission regarding the sanitary norms in medical centers, there is not any desirable result, told minister, making the final warning for the liquidation of shortages in his direction.

The commission intensifies its activity and in case of the violation of the sanitary rules, the punishment measures will be applied, he told.

At the same time, during the raids held in the private medical institutions, there was revealed the fact that the doctors working in state medical institutions direct the patients to the private medical centers to make additional profit. These doctors will be punished if such cases are discovered, minister added.
