USAID has financed the opening of the Children and Family Support Center in Goranboy district of Azerbaijan. The opening ceremony will be held on 25 July, the US embassy in Baku told Trend.
The USAID-supported Children and Family Support Center was created with the support of USAID and implemented by Save the Children Federation in partnership with United Aid for Azerbaijan within the Community-based Childrens Support Program. The three-year Community-based Childrens Support Program launched on October 1, 2004, seeks to promote the full integration of vulnerable children into society and to develop community capacity to care for such children in Azerbaijan.
Since the program started, three separate Children and Family Suppport Centers have been established in Shuvelan (Baku), Mingechevir and Goranboy.
