Executive Director of UNWFP in talks with Azeri gov't
The Executive Director of the UN World Food Program (WFP), James Morris, is in Azerbaijan with a three-day visit, the Baku Office of UN WFP, told Trend.
The program of the visit includes meeting at the State Committee on Refugees and Internally Displaced People, as well as different sate bodies in the country. As a result of the meeting Morris will give a news conference at Hyatt Park on 28 July.
UNWFP is one of the first international organizations which over the past 12 years has been involved in rendering food to refugees and internally displaced people suffered as a result of Armenian aggression. In accordance with new two-year program on long-term assistance to and rehabilitation, adopted in June 2006, the WFP will render food assistance to 130,000 IDPs of Azerbaijan, settled 11 regions of the country.
