The Cultural Heritage Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan holds inventory-monitoring of historical and cultural buildings included in the Registry of historical and cultural monuments.
This measure is the requirement of the time, Rizvan Bayramov, the head of the cultural heritage department, told Trend. In general, there are 6308 monuments in Azerbaijan. The works are planed to be completed by the end of this year.
The monitoring is realized by the employees of the Tourism and Culture Ministry and local departments in the regions of the country. Besides, the students of the University of Architecture and Construction are involved in the monitoring. According to Bayramov, it needs to accurately define the criteria according to which the monuments are concerned to these and other categories.
