The State Committee for Work with Azerbaijanis Living Abroad is holding talks with the International Nobel Committee regarding the establishment of monument of Nobel brothers in Azerbaijan, Bahram Atabayli, head of Swedish-Azerbaijani Centre of Science and Research, told Trend.
The head of the diaspora organization noted that he has prepared the project for construction of monument of Nobel brothers in Baku and submitted it to Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry, Nobel Committee and Azerbaijani Embassy in Sweden. According to Atabayli, there should be a response to his letter to establish the monument in Azerbaijan. After considering my proposals, relevant state bodies of Azerbaijan should give consent to the realization of the project. After this, a place will appointed for the monument. The first monument of Alfred Nobel was established in New York. We want the monument of Nobel brothers to be created in Baku. Still there is no response, he told.
Atabayli noted that the project may be carried out in next year. According to him, the sponsorship in this issue may be provided by Nobel Committee, as well as oil companies.
