Youth and Sports Minister to Visit China, Kazakhstan and Ukraine

Azerbaijan has protocol-intentions and the plan of actions aimed at youth policy with several countries, the Chief of the Press-Service of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Rafig Abbasov told Trend.

He pointed out that such countries like Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, Georgia, Saudi Arabia are among these countries. And this list will be extended very soon. Signing of such protocols with China, Kazakhstan, and other countries is expected soon. According to him, for realization of these issues in Mart 2006 the Georgian delegation came to Baku, in June the delegation from Saudi Arabia, in August - the Deputy Prime-Minister of Turkey.

At present Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov takes part in the international conference devoted to AIDS in Toronto. It is planned that the Minister will meet the representatives of the offices engaged in youth policy, he told. He also pointed out that the Minister to pay a visit to China in September, and in the end of the year he to visit Kazakhstan and Ukraine with the goal to sign protocol-intentions.

According to the official statistics 60 per cent of the total population of Azerbaijan is young people. 30 per cent of them are up to the age of 18, 33 per cent are between the ages of 18-35. There are about 60,000 young families in Baku. The main problem of the youth is the housing problem and the issue of returning of the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
