On 5 December, State Accusers Will Require Court to Appoint Punishment for Former Senior Official of Azeri Interior Ministry and His Criminal Gang

On 5 December, the State defendants will expect the court to pass sentence for the former senior official of the Head Investigation Department of the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry Haji Mammadov and the criminal gang headed by him. This decision was made by the Chairman of the Court, Judge Ali Seyfaliyev, Trend reports.

At the beginning of the court session, Seyfaliyev presented to the discussions the petition as a result of the investigation, raised by the State Defendant Bashir Jafarov. The advocates and prosecuted persons supported the petition.

Due to the large number of paperwork on the case of Mammadov and his gang, the prosecutors Bashir Jafarli and Abdulla Yusifov requested extra time from the Judge in which to prepare for the final hearing, but this was refused with the Judge allowing them just 4 days. After the prosecutors' speech, speeches by the advocates and the prosecuted will be heard. A decision is expected to be made by the end of December. The court session on the cases of Mammadov and his gang which comprises of 25 persons, is held in the Court of Heinous Crimes of Azerbaijan under the Chair of Judge Ali Seyfaliyev.
