International Convention on Biodiversity Protection Highlights Ecology Situation in Nagorno-Karabakh

The current ecology situation on occupied Azerbaijani territories has been discussed in the Secretariat of the International Convention on Biodiversity protection.

A letter received from the Secretariat points out that events happened in the conflict zone are contrary to requirements of the Convention, including the document adopted in Johannesburg The Objectives of Biodiversity- 2010, Trend reports referring to the Azerbaijan Ecology and Natural resources Ministry. The Secretariat blames Armenia for the ecological terror against Azerbaijan environment.

The letter points out that the International Convention on Biodiversity Protection highlights its attention on the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Today, many kinds of flora and fauna of Azerbaijan are under threat. Rare kinds of trees oak, walnut, Eldar pine, etc. The Azerbaijan Ecology Ministry urges all to join the joint activity on informing the international community about the ecological terror on the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, said the Ecology Ministry of the Country.
