On December 26, the Chairman of the National TV and Radio Council of Azerbaijan, Nushiravan Maharramli, met with the representatives of the companies offering the cable television service in Azerbaijan. The meeting focused on the transmission of the foreign. Maharramli said that referring to the world practice and international standards, Azerbaijan will also carry out the transmission of the foreign channels only through cable and satellite television. He said that two Russian and three Turkish channels are transmitted in Azerbaijan. According to him, the transmission of only Turkish channel TRT will continue. Termination the transmission of the remaining 4 foreign channels and their transmission through cable or satellite television will be discussed at the meeting of the Council on December 28. According to Maharramli, this question should be resolved till January 3.
