Namig Abbasov, Azerbaijan Ambassador to Uzbekistan, exclusively told Trend that a ceremony dedicated to the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis, as well as the Id-al-Idha and New Year Holiday is expected to be held by an initiative of the Azerbaijani Embassy to Uzbekistan in Tashkent on December, 30.
He said that representatives of Azerbaijani Diaspora in Uzbekistan which live both in Tashkent and other regions of Uzbekistan, as well as activists of Azerbaijani-Uzbek friendly relations, scientists, businessmen, culture figures of Uzbekistan, including Nasiba Abdullayeva, the People Artist of Uzbekistan, Rena Sharifova, the Honoured Actress who is engaged in studying the creativity of Rasheed Behbudov will take part in the forthcoming event
The Azerbaijani Diplomat said that the forthcoming arrangement would become a symbol of friendship between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Mr. Abbasov said that 100 Uzbekistan officials had been invited to take part in the event.
Mr. Abbasov said that during the event, the welcome speech of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev to the World Azerbaijanis will be read to participants of the arrangement. Then a big concert with the participation of Azerbaijanis living in Uzbekistan will be held.
Notably, according to the official data, 40.000 Azerbaijanis live in Uzbekistan.
