(news.sawf.org) - Pirates of The Caribbean star Johnny Depp has been named the most looked-for actor of 2006, with 42 million web surfers searching online information about him on the Internet Movie Database website.
His reprised role as a charismatic pirate with a rock star swagger and a penchant for rum and heavy eyeliner, is said to have won him the first position in the list of 20 most searched for actors.
Other stars named on the list include Depp's Pirates co-star Keira Knightley and Kate Beckinsale.
Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie and her boyfriend Brad Pitt, who were at second and fourth place respectively, were searched more for their relationship and family than their work, the Daily Mail reported.
Hotel heiress Paris Hilton made it to ninth position on the list, despite her limited film career that includes cameo appearances in such turkeys as House of Wax.
