The anomalous change of the world climate, which has caused winter without snow in the European part of Russia and unusual climate processes in other regions, led to the rumors that an unusual hotness is expected in Baku this summer. The Director of the Center for Climate and Ozone of the Azerbaijan Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Maharram Mehdiyev, informed Trend that in July 2007, the temperature in Baku may be as it was in the summer of 1998 вЂ" higher than normal temperature for this year by 1-4 degrees. The normal temperature for July in Baku is considered at 37.5 degrees. Mehdiyev calls on the residents of the city not to leave the apartment if the temperature rises up to 41-42 degree because it will last for 1-2 days. Threat for the health of humans exists when the high temperature lasts for 5-10 days.

He considers that it is possible to forecast the weather 5 days before. The July forecasts are not final.

According to Mehdiyev, the anomalous climate changes are caused by anthropogenic appearance. In 1991, 43,5 mln tons of carbonic gas were missed into the climate of Azerbaijan. Four years later, the level of the gas contamination SO2 decreased by 40%. Last year the volume of the carbonic gas reached 33-34 mln tons. It creates greenhouse effect in the atmosphere, and results in the reflection of the sun rays from land reflected from SO2 which then returns to the land.
