On 16 January, the Court of Heinous Crimes of Azerbaijan will pass sentences on the former senior official of the Head Investigation Department of the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry Haji Mammadov and the members of the criminal gang headed by him. The court session will be chaired by Judge Ali Seyfaliyev, Trend reports with reference to the Court.
The court on members of the gang, who are accused of mass kidnapping and assassination, commenced on 4 August 2006. After evidence from the accused , the victims and witnesses, the State voted life imprisonment for Mammadov and 9 members of the gang, and various terms of imprisonment for other members. The former Head of Head Investigation Department, Zakir Nasirov and former Chief of Property Crimes Department of the Head Investigation Department, Kamil Sedreddinov, is amongst the guilty party .
