Gudsi Osmanov, the Consul General of Azerbaijan to Saint Petersburg, informed Trend that representatives of the Passport and Registration Department of the Azerbaijan Interior Ministry departed to Moscow and Saint Petersburg to give passports to Azerbaijanis living in Russia.
According to the Azerbaijan diplomat, representatives of the Interior Ministry have already quartered in the office of the Consulate General, where they will work after some technical irregularities are solved. They will receive documents submitted by Azerbaijani citizens living in Saint Petersburg and send them to Azerbaijan for passport issue. After the passports are prepared, they will be sent back to the Consulate General to be presented to the citizens. The same will be done with Azerbaijani citizens in Moscow.
According to Mr. Osmanov, the representatives of the Passport and Registration Department of the Azerbaijan Interior Ministry will visit the Russian Northern Capital for at least a month вЂ" until all troubles which our compatriots face are solved. On January 31, 2006, the Consul General together with the representatives of the Interior Ministry are expected to visit the Russian Republic of Karelia to get acquainted with problems Azerbaijanis who live there face. Other representatives of the Consulate General are in Murmansk, Arkhangelsk and other Russian territories. Mr. Osmanov also said that hot line was available in the Consulate General.
