The Azerbaijan Minister of Health, Oktay Shiraliyev, said that in 2007, AZN 283 mln have been allocated from the State budget of Azerbaijan for health, Trend reports. According to him, presently the main questions are to effectively use these finances. Touching upon the directions of the finances, the Minister said that the expenses on the unpaid medicines, foods for patients and purchase of the modern medical equipments remain unchanged.
A certain part of the finances will be spent on providing medicaments to chronic patients. Presently, we have purchased medicines for patients with haemophilia and thalassemia. We hope to fully resolve this question after Heydar Aliyev Foundation ensures the construction of the center for patients with thalassemia, the Minister said.
This year, work will be carried out on the state programs on development of the services of blood, blood components and donorship, hereditary haemophilia and thalassemia diseases, chronic renal insufficiency, etc.
