(starpulse.com) - Nicole Kidman was taken to hospital last night after being involved in an accident on the set of her latest film, The Invasion, in downtown Los Angeles. The actress was filming a scene in which she was driving a Jaguar, trying to escape zombie-like characters who were hanging off the hood, when the accident happened.
The vehicle was being towed by a rig in order to give the appearance that the actress was actually driving the car. The stunt driver operating the rig lost control while turning a corner, causing Kidman's car to hit a pole and knock over a garbage can. The actress and her co-star, 10-year-old Jackson Bond, who was riding in the passenger seat, were both wearing seat belts.
Members of the crew immediately wrapped a blanket around Kidman, and paramedics arrived to check the actress for injuries. The 39-year-old star was taken to Cedars Sinai Medical Center and was released within two hours.
According to Us Weekly, the actress was in shock and took a long break, but eventually resumed filming later that night. Her husband, Keith Urban, and 11-year-old son Connor Cruise, were reportedly on set with her at the time of the accident.
