Irrespective of hospitalization and treatment, the lung patient, a resident of Dayigkend village of Salyan district of Azerbaijan, passed away. The Head of the Press-Service of the Azerbaijani Health Ministry, Anar Gadirli, informed Trend that he had been hospitalized with the diagnose of bronchopneumonia. To identify the diagnosis of the patient, a laboratory examination was held on January 25th in PZR laboratory in Azerbaijan, with the participation of specialists of the Health Ministry. Signs of bird flu were not discovered.
We analysed samples taken from the patient, in 3 different laboratories in the country, but the danger of bird flu was not confirmed. Despite this the samples will be sent to London for a repeat examination. We expect to receive a response within a week, Gadirli said.
Taking into consideration the seasonal migration of wild birds, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture recommend the public refrain from close contact with the birds, keep domestic birds away from wild birds and notify the local veterinary service if the mass death of the birds is seen. Not to hunt and use wild birds and to appeal to medical institutions if they have a temperature of 38ВєC or more and follow the rules of personal hygiene.
