Firdevs Robinson, Head of BBC Service for Central Asia and South Caucasus, said in a meeting with journalists that Radio BBC in Azerbaijan stated on the commencement of new projects in Azerbaijan enabling interactive communication with listeners, Trend reports.
She noted that in accordance with the interior rules of Azerbaijan, BBC is restricted with its own frequency for broadcasting. So, the company intends to intensify its activities in Azerbaijan to serve its listeners. Ms Robinson added that this method is widely spread at BBC services in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
BBC is going to negotiate with the Government of Azerbaijan for licensing of broadcasting in all regions of the country, not only in Baku.
Ms Robinson said that Azerbaijan is BBC's interest as a source of information from the aspect of geographic dislocation, as well as energy projects.
