The Advocate, member of the Collegium of Advocates of Azerbaijan, Ikram Shirinov, said at the press-conference that he may participate at the meeting of the Appeal Court of Hungary on February 2, 2007 on the case of the officer of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces Ramil Safarov, who has been sentenced to the life-imprisonment on April 13, 2006, Trend reports.

Ramil Safarov is accused of the assassination of the Armenian officer Gurgen Markaryan. Safarov's advocate has already prepared amendments to the appeal court and it will be submitted to the court in the near future. According to the Chairman of the Collegium of Advocates, Azer Tagiyev, many violations have been allowed during the court process on this case. For instance during detention, Safarov has not been explained the law. At the beginning, the prosecutor, but not Safarov has selected the advocate, the Russian-Hungarian interpreter has not accurately translated the evidences of Safarov. Many countries assess the last fact as very serious violation which may cause the cancellation of the resolution of the Court. Now Safarov will have Turkic-Hungarian, but not Russian-Hungarian interpreter, he said. As regards to the authorities of the Appeal Court of Hungary, they have the same rights as the Appeal Court of Azerbaijan. Tagiyev and Shirinov arrived in Hungary a week ago within the international co-operat

ion of the Collegiums of Advocates of Azerbaijan and Hungary. There they get familiarized with the activities of their European colleagues. Within the visit, the Hungarian guests visited Safarov's isolator twice. Safarov's health is normal. He periodically meets with his advocates.
