Azerbaijani Education Minister Says Over 500 Azerbaijani Secondary Schools Need English Language Teachers

Misir Mardanov, Azerbaijan's Education Minister, has said that over 500 secondary schools of Azerbaijan need English language teachers. The Minister stated that during a meeting with Andy Williams, the Director of the British Council Azerbaijan, Trend reports referring to the Education Ministry of the Country.

Having highly appreciated the activity of the British Council in the field of improving the qualification of English language teachers in Azerbaijan, Mr. Mardanov pointed out that it was necessary to sign a joint memorandum to keep on co-operating in this field. The Education Minister also marked the importance on the organizing of sending Azerbaijani pupils to Great Britain.

For his part, Mr. Williams informed the Azerbaijani Minister of a new project the British Council plans to implement in the field of professional technical education in Azerbaijan. The same project is intended for 15 other countries worldwide.
