Ogtay Shiraliyev, Azerbaijan's Health Minister, has said during the Internet-Forum organized for the internet users and population that the reason of the death of two members of a family allegedly from bird flue and another member of the same family from bronchial pneumonia in Salyan may be linked with the life conditions of the family вЂ" a marchland, non-observance and lack of elementary hygiene and sanitary rules, etc caused such an unfavourable outcome. Therefore, it would be wrong to look for the guilty, said the Minister.

Notably, the London Laboratory of the World Heath Organization has recently claimed that no presence of bird flue virus was detected in the samples of a dead resident of Salyan District and an inhabitant female of the Village of Boynag of Neftchala District of Azerbaijan. Both of them passed away from double pneumonia.

Taking into consideration the season migration of wild birds and in order to reinforce taking preventive measures, the Azerbaijan Health and Agriculture Ministers recommends the population to avoid close contacts with birds, keep poultry away from wild birds, inform local agencies and offices of the veterinary Service of the Country about any bird deaths, not to hunt on and eat wild birds, etc.
