E.Javadova / On 22 February, during the court session in the Azerbaijan Court on Heinous Crimes over the cases of the former Health Ministry of Azerbaijan, Ali Insanov and other 10 people, the Prosecutors Chingiz Shukurov and Kamran Aliyev announced the accusation act.
It was said that violating the legislation, the Former Health Minister, together with other people, privatized the facilities being in the balance of the Health Ministry.
Insanov illegally privatized 16 facilities, which were in the balance of the Health Ministry and were located in Baku , in the name of his son Vidadi Insanov, daughter Ayli Shtelen, nephew Anar Namazov and relatives and other subordinate persons. From July to October 2004, he received $200,000 from the Chief of the off-budget medical service, Vekil Abbasov.
In addition, Insanov deviate from paying large-amount taxes for his personal profits gained from the medicines "Insanavit". From 1997 to January 2005, Ali Insanov received $121,000 from 129 people for giving licenses. In addition, the former Minister is accused of issuing illegal orders and taking bribes.
The former Minister is accused in 30 episodes over the articles regarding taking bribe and misuse of the authorities.
Together with Ali Insanov, the Court accuses the Chief of the Off-Budget Medical Service of the Ministry, Vekil Abbasov, nephew Anar Namazov, Head of the Ministry International Relations Department, Alexander Ufnyakshin, Head of Ministry's Department for Staff, Science and Education, Nazim Ibrahimov, Director of "Vita Medical Center" LLC, Fakhraddin Abbasov, Head of the Ministry's Department for Pharmaceutics and Medical Technique, Shovgi Jafarov, Chairman of Board of Directors of "Passaj-Aptek" JSC, Fuad Mahmudov, Specialists of Ministry's Department for Pharmaceutics and Medical Technique, Shovgfi Jafarov and Haji Aliyev and Director of Republic Rehabilitation Center, Perviz Kazimov. Except Insanov, other accused persons have not been arrested yet.
The next court session will take place on 25 February.
