Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Alizade / The Press Service of the Geology Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences stated that the threat of landslides has increased in several areas in Baku and the problem is still not resolved. This threat has been caused by both man and nature.
According to information given, the territory from the Bayl district to Martyrs' Avenue and 9th Micro District is the area most prone to experiencing a landslide. Other areas which are susceptible to landslides are the territory between Ismayl Gutgashenli and H.Hajiyev streets, from General Shkhlinski Street to Ukrainian Circle (Ahmedli settlement), Ganja Avenue, Yeni Gunashli, Zig, Garachukhur. Such a threat also exists in the Binagadi district as well as the territory between Salyan Caserne and Metbuat Avenue and in Alatava.
It was also confirmed that at present 60-70% of the buildings in Badamdar and 100% in Bayl are recorded as dangerous.
