Babayeva / The Ministry of Ecology of Azerbaijan reported that the Azerbaijani laboratories in Gazakh and Beylagan cities have been working on medium security since 6 March after an incident at "Akhtala" industrial complex in Armenia. According to the data provided by the media, as a result of the incident, harmful substances were polluted into the Kura River through to the Khram River.
Water samples of the Khram, Kura, Tovuzchay, Agstafachay Rivers and the reservoir on the Agstafachay have been examined at the laboratories and the analysis confirmed that oil, oil products and phenol have exceeded the limit. The amount of phenol in the Khram, Kura, Tovuzchay and Agstafachay Rivers is 8 times over the limit, while in the Agstafa reservoir it is 5 times over the limit.
