Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr S. Babayeva / Faig Agayev, the Director of the Scientific Research Institute on Pulmonary Deseases, informed 13 March that the first Special National Laboratory for Tuberculosis Researches is to be opened in Azerbaijan.
The construction work was started at the end of December, 2006 and about 40% of it has been carried out.
The construction of the ground floor of the two-storey building has been completed. The Labouratory will be put in commission by the summer.
"The foundation of the Laboratory is one of the demands of the World Health Organization in fight against bird flu," Agayev noted.
