Nineteen Person Guilty on Case of Ex-Minister for Economic Development

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr K. Zarbaliyeva / Investigation on the case of the Ex-Minister for Economic Development Farhad Aliyev and his brother Rafig Aliyev, the former owner of the Azpetrol company, will be finalised on 28 March.

Eldar Afandiyev, the Head of the Public Relations Department at the Republican Office of Public Prosecutor, informed that the defendants and their attorneys are becoming familiarized with the details of the criminal case.

He noted that 19 persons are accused of corruption offences, most of which are former officials of the offices of the Ministry for Economic Development.

Farhad Aliyev is accused of tax evasion, misappropriation, extravagance and abuse of power. R. Aliyev is accused of tax evasion, attempts to initiate mass riots, coup d'etat and smuggling.

The investigation is underway. The cases with the Ex-Minister for Health Ali Insanov, the former Head of the Presidential Apparat Management Akif Muradverdiyev, the former Head of Police of Ganja City Natig Afandiyev and others will be considered after the investigation is completed.
