Hiked mansion prices leave Beckhams homeless in LA

(news.sawf.org) - Celebrity couple Victoria and David Beckham are reportedly still on a house hunting spree in California, for they are unwilling to overpay for a house, whose cost has been hiked just because the famous pair is interested in it.

A source close to the Beckhams said that when one is interested in expensive mansions, it is difficult to keep identities hidden. The source added that the sellers increase the rates after realising that the buyer is a celeb. "It's pretty hard to keep identities secret when you are interested in multimillion-dollar mansions. Once sellers find out who's interested in buying, the prices skyrocket. It's ridiculous," People magazine quoted the source, as saying.

Earlier this year, it was announced that the couple will move to California after the soccer star signed a deal with LA Galaxy. Since then, Posh has made tours to the West Coast to enquire about mansions, and schools for their three children. The source said that the couple will definitely buy in and around Beverly Hills, and that since they are very careful with their money, they are not going to pay more for a mansion, whose price has been raised simply because the buyers are famous. "They will definitely buy in or around Beverly Hills. It makes sense for them. But they will not pay an excess purely because of who they are. They are careful with their money," the source added.
