Trend S.Ilhamgizi / The Chairman of the National TV and Radio Council of Azerbaijan, Nushiravan Maherremli, said that a number of limitations in broadcasting of the Turkish TRT channel in Azerbaijan are linked with the technical problems of the channel itself. He said that TRT channel has problems due to the issue that they have not paid off necessary finances to Azerbaijan TV and Radio Production Unit and have not signed a contract. Maharramli stressed that the foreign TV channels in Azerbaijan should be broadcasted with cable and satellite antennas.
Maharramli said that a new TV channel is planned to be opened in Azerbaijan in the near future. "We prefer to open local channels in the regions of Azerbaijan. But the advertisement market is limited and material and technical base of the regional channels is very weak. We plan to open regional channels in Shamakhi and Ali Bayramli," Maharramli said.
