Azerbaijan, Baku /corr Trend S. Aghayeva / Government of Great Britain, British Council and UNICEF will implement a joint project on improvement of physical training in Azerbaijan. The project implies repairing gymnasiums at Azerbaijani schools, raising the level of the trainers' skills.
The project will involve physically handicapped children, the children from boarding schools and refugees. The Ministry of Youth and Sports as well as the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan will be involved in the implementation of the project.
Azerbaijan needs a physical infrastructure at all educational levels. The gymnasiums should be equipped with the necessary outfit; the instructors should be supplied with textbooks and provided with training courses. Insufficient technical base is a key problem.
The project is under current development at the Ministry.
