Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. S. Ilhamgizi/ The Azerbaijan Youth and Sports Minister and the All-Republican Youth Movement "Irali" ("Go Ahead") are jointly holding the International Conference called "The History of Tragedy", which is dedicated to 31 March - the Day of Genocide committed against Azerbaijanis by Armenians. The event was held in the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Society Named after M. Magomayev. Ministers, officials, different public and political figures, historians, and foreign quests participated in the Conference, Azad Rahimov, Azerbaijan's Youth and Sports Minister told about the history of the genocide committed by Dashnak-Bolshevik military groupings led by Stepan Shaumyan against the Azerbaijani people in 1918. The Azerbaijani Minister noted that researching and studying this history had been under the prohibition for a long time. However, after Azerbaijan's gaining its independence in 1991, on March 30, 1998, the late Azerbaijani Ex-President ordered to mark March 30 every year as the Day of the Genocide committed against the Azerbaijani people.
Speaking during the arrangement, Hussein Avni Karslioglu, Turkey's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, told the participants about the policy of genocide Armenians have carried out against the Turkic people. He noted that by their agitation, propaganda, and inventory claims only harm the Turkic people.
After some participants of the event concluded giving their speeches, a video clip named "The History of the Tragedy", dedicated to the Azerbaijani Genocide, was screened
Moreover, Prof. Yusif Khalachoglu, the well-known Turkish historian Muzeffer Gulyurd, a Member of the Turkish parliament gave their speeches as foreign Rapporteurs during the Conference.
