International Red Cross Committee Representatives Meet with Azerbaijani Captive
Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr K. Zarbaliyeva / Representatives of the International Red Cross Committee (IRCC) met with Azerbaijani soldier Samir Mammadov, who was captured by the Armenians in 24 December 2006.
According to Samir's uncle, Vidadi Mammadov, the IRCC representatives informed the Mammadovs residing in the city of Barda of the occasion. The representatives delivered a letter to Samir from his family. They stated that his health is good; however they did not bring a letter from him.
Mammadov said that the family had sent 13 letters to Samir and had received five from him.
Samir Mammadov was conscripted for military service by the Military Commissariat of the region of Barda. He was captured by the Armenian military on the Gazakh-Ijevan border 15km away from the military unit.
