Azerbaijan Female Prisoners Passing a Medical Examination
Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. K. Zarbaliyeva/ Rafael Mehtiyev, the Chief of the Health Care and Protection Department of the Azerbaijan Justice Ministry has told Trend today that female prisoners serving their sentence in Correctional Institution 4 of the Azerbaijan Penitentiary System have passed a medical examination.
He said that the mentioned action had been initiated by the State Family, Women, and Children Committee. The female convicts passed an ultrasound and laboratory examination. The medical examination of the female prisoners is expected to be completed tomorrow. The female convicts were medically examined by physicians of the Health Care and Protection Department of the Justice Ministry and Central Health Care and Protection Department of Baku City.
The results of the examination conducted will be known after the arrangement is fully completed. Notably, about 250 female convicts are presently serving their sentence in this correctional institution.
Most part of the prisoners have been sentenced for premeditated murder, fraud, illegal drug turnover. 28 female prisoners are foreign citizens.
