Appeal Brought by Ex-Chief of Azerbaijan Presidential Administration Put into Legal Proceedings

Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. K. Zarbaliyeva/ The appeal sent to the Azerbaijan Supreme Court concerning the decision made by the Court toward the former Chief of the Azerbaijan Presidential Administration, Akif Muradverdiyev have been commissioned Judge Zaygham Husseynov to launch legal proceedings, a source in the Supreme Court of the Country has said today. Since the mentioned case has recently been put into legal proceedings, the date of the preparatory sitting on it has not been determined yet.

Notably, Mr. Muradverdiyev was sentenced to a six-year imprisonment. He was accused of Article 179.3.2 (misappropriating state property and embezzlement in an extremely large scale), Article 308.2 (exceeding one's commissions and authorities), Article 311 (bribe-taking), 313 (service falsification) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan Republic. The investigation of the criminal case brought against the Chief of the Presidential Administration of the Country on Article 28.278 (an attempt to perform a coup and forcibly take a power in one's hands) and 28. 220 (preparation for massive disorders) of the Criminal Code of the Country.

Mr. Muradverdiyev is currently being cured in the Patient Care Institution of the Penitentiary Service of the Country.
