Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Alizade / The Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Azerbaijanis Residing Abroad, Nazim Ibrahimov, said on 26 April in Baku that after the new law 'On immigration' came into force in Russian Federation, no fact of special concern for Azerbaijan was registered. He stressed that after the law took affect, the Azerbaijanis residing in Russia brought their documents into order and it prevented possible problems. "Most of the Azerbaijanis residing in Russia have already received passports and possess all necessary documents for residing in Russia," Ibrahimov said. He stressed that the fact of mass expelling of the Azerbaijanis have not been noted.

"There are few cases of deportation. After the law took effect, the number of expelled people has not exceeded the number in 2005-2006.
