Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr I. Alizadeh / The chairman of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan, Farhad Abdullayev, reported on 26 April that the amount of appeals for the European Court on Human Rights regarding the findings of Azerbaijani courts has increased.

Abdullayev noted that the fact could not be considered a positive one, though it is a normal process.

"When Azerbaijan entered the convention, every citizen of the country was enabled to appeal to the European Court," chairman said.

According to Abdullayev, the Court cancelled a petty part of the findings issued by Azerbaijani courts.

The appeals of the Azerbaijani citizens to the Constitutional Court have noticeably increased.

"At a period the amount of appeals decreased. However, for the time being the Constitutional Court is dealing with an enormous quantity of appeals," Abdullayev added.
