Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr E. Huseynli / Misir Mardanov, Azerbaijani Minister for Education, reported on 7 May that the final draft of the Bill on Education was ready. All proposals and recommendations by the Ministry of Education had been taken into consideration.
According to Mardanov, he is satisfied with the issues included in the bill. He noted that the bill would be submitted to Parliament for further consideration.
The last Bill on Education was passed in 1995. The new bill has been developed due to the reason that the last one does not comply to modern standards. The Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani parliament) stated that the new bill would be passed at the end of spring session of the parliament.
