Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. S. Babayeva/Chingiz Asadov, the Chief Haematologist of the Azerbaijani Health Ministry, said today that an International Conference - "Pressing Issues of Thalassemia" is expected to be held in Baku
The forthcoming conference is expected to be held under the organization of Azerbaijani Haematologists and Transfusiologists Society and the Turkish medical Society of Haemoglobin on May 10-11.
Sanan Karimov, the Deputy Azerbaijani Health Minister, Chingiz Asadov, the Chief Haematologists of Azerbaijan, as well as relevant specialists representing Russia, Turkey, Georgia, Italy, Ukraine and Switzerland are expected to take part in the opening of the conference.
A total of 40 foreign specialists have been invited to participate in the forthcoming event. During the conference, the position on thalassemia in each of the member-states of the conference, as well as ways on fighting the disease and development of cooperation between the countries will be viewed.
