Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. K.Zarbaliyev / Abdulbari Gezal, the president of the company Azersun Holding has withdrawn the lawsuit he filed against Rauf Arifogli, the Editor-in Chief of the Yeni Musavat newspaper.
Gezal's lawyer submitted the document to the Court during the hearing held at Baku City Nizami district Court which was presided by Judge Huseyin Huseyinov. The Court cancelled the lawsuit and the case was closed.
Previously, Gezal demanded to make the Editor-in-Chief answerable in accordance with Articles 147.2 (slander) of the Criminal Code. Arifogli stated that the reason for this action was his speech at the Kanal Turk television channel of Turkey on 29 March 2007, which dealt with the relations of the Kurds terrorists with different organizations. Previously, the Yeni Musavat and the Azersun Holding were on trial.
